Opportunity House Golf League
Opp House sponsors its own golf league, currently open to membership. The OH Golf League is co-ed and plays nine holes at Crooked Creek Golf Club on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings. The league season runs from early April to late October. While membership in Opportunity House is a prerequisite to membership in its golf league, it is open to all interested. Annual rates are $35 for an individual membership; $60 for a couples’ membership. Applications for joining both Opportunity House and its golf league are available at the front desk of Opportunity House, 1411 Asheville Highway. Ballroom Dance Club
We invite you to our Friday night dances every week
in the Annex of Opportunity House at
1411 Asheville Highway
in Hendersonville from 7:30 to 10:00 PM
for an evening of Social and Ballroom Dance.
Come at 7:00 PM for a brush up dance lesson,
then enjoy the variety of recorded music,
fellowship and refreshments!
Cost is $3 for members; $5 for nonmembers.

Blood Screening Service
Opportunity House operates a blood screening service each week on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 AM. The service is open to the general public. A complete menu of testing is available through Quest Diagnostic Laboratories, and reports can be faxed to physicians’ offices on the next day for most tests. Competitive pricing for the tests benefits self-pay clients.
Cash or checks are accepted. Some tests available include: CMP/CBC/TSH for $50, or $20 each; PSA, $30; lipid panel, $20; hepatic function, $20; and BMP, $20.

NEW CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES !
 Beginning Knitting classes will start again at Opportunity
House, 1411 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville on Wednesdays beginning May 14th. Morning sessions meet from 10 – 11:30 AM and evening sessions meet from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. The cost for the 6 week course is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. To register or for more information, please call 692-0575 today.
CALLIGRAPHY: The Art of Beautiful Writing can be offered on Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and the cost will be $50 for a 4-week session of lessons with enough interest shown. There is a minimum of 8 students required to offer this class, so make sure to call 692-0575 or come by the front desk to sign up!
BEGINNING WEAVING CLASS
is signing up now for its next session and is currently meeting
Mondays from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Class size is limited to 5 or less

OH LAPIDARY GROUP meets on Wednesdays and Fridays
from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Wednesdays focus on lapidary:
cutting, shaping and polishing stones, rocks and minerals.
Fridays emphasize the design and fabrication of silver.

OIL & ACRYLICS Painting with an Easy Drawing Method Class taught by Clare Clark (692-7258) is an ongoing Monday class. The course covers blending of colors, various brush techniques and some perspective. Students may enter any time, with instructor’s permission.
The class meets 12:30-3:30 p.m. in 6-week sessions.

PORTRAIT CLASS Ruth Goldsborough is holding classes for portrait drawing
in oils and pastel mediums on Tuesdays from 9 AM - 12 PM in 6-week sessions.
The class fee is $60 for members and $75 for non-members.

STAINED GLASS CLASSES
Cheryl Stippich teaches stained glass classes Tues.
1 - 4 PM. Extra studio time is Fri. 1 - 4 PM. Classes
focus on copper foil method developed by Tiffany in
the late 1800s and is geared for beginners as well as
those interested in refreshing their skills. Students
learn how to cut and fit glass properly, foil, solder,
patina and finish their own glass projects.
Stippich has 15 years experience and is a member of
the Southern Highland Craft Guild.
A set of 8 class sessions costs
$65 for members and $80 for nonmembers.
Diane Coleman WATERCOLOR PAINTING Classes
have returned to Opportunity House by public demand!
The classes are for beginning and continuing students
and meet Thursdays from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM in 6 week sessions.
Students may enter any time with instructor permission.

Dick Kaisers INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED
WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASSES
are held every Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
in 8 week sessions and are for the student who has mastered the basics and is ready to move on to the next level of skills.

POTTERY
The OH Pottery Group meets every Monday at 3 PM

NIA Fitness
NIA classes are held Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 –11:30 AM led by certified professional instructor Anne Lowry. Fees for an 8-class card are $56 for members/$64 for non-members OR a 10-class card are $70 for members/$80 for non-members. This non-impact aerobic (NIA)exercise class is designed especially for people over 55 and anyone with joint inflammation or neck, back, or knee injuries.
The first class is FREE!

This time-honored card game is played every
